Petcoke is an intentionally manufactured product used in the Midwest and throughout the United States as a fuel for generating electricity and as a valued part of the manufacturing process for cement, paper, brick, glass, paint and other products.
Nearly 80 percent of the petcoke produced worldwide is “fuel grade” and powers cement or electric power plants. Calcinated petcoke is used primarily in the manufacture of aluminum as well as steel, titanium dioxide (a pigment or whitener) and other industrial products.
